April 16-18th: Balkan Regional Meeting

After extensive discussions activists agreed to call for a Balkan regional meeting in Skopje during April 16-18th. It is being organised on the local level by Sloboden Indeks.

Some technical info:

•  Meeting starts on Saturday, (16th April 2011) at 16:00 CET.
• Participants should arrive in Skopje on Saturday at 14:00 CET the latest.
• We ask everyone who likes to participate to confirm their arrival by sending us an email at sloboden.indeks@gmail.com telling us the time of their arrival and if they need accommodation.
• We can accommodate around 10-15 people in homes. The rest will be in hostels or will have to find their own accommodation. Unfortunately we are low on budget and can cover only part of the hostels price. This means most probably some people will have to pay at the hostel (it's 9eu per night per person including breakfast & dinner).
• Food (sandwiches) and beverages will be provided during breaks.

This meeting should be seen in the global context. Regional meetings were and are being organised around the world.

Saturday (17.4.2011):

Agreement on technicalities: 16:00 ~ 17:00
• Opening
• Agreeing on the language of the meeting: Serbo-croatian and/or English
• Agreeing on way of voting: whether voting is needed; whether it would be by simple majority (50%+1) or two-thirds majority; Individual or group voting?
• Appointing moderator(s), note-taker(s) and technical person(s).
• Presenting of the agenda, possible changes

Presentation and information sharing:
17:00 ~ 18:00 Introduction of the various student groups from the Balkans, their past and future actions, achievements and failures, obstacles and difficulties. Questions and discussion.
18:00 ~ 18:30 BREAK
18:30 ~ 20:00 Introduction and comparison of various educational systems in the different countries of the Balkans, similarities and differences, discussion.
20:00 ~ 21:00 Discussion about methods of mobilization and principles of action, with emphasis on Free and emancipatory education, and student self-organizing on the basis of direct democracy

Dogovaranje tehnikalije: 16:00 ~ 17:00
• Otvaranje sastanka
• Dogovaranje jezik sastanka: Srpskohrvatski i/ili engleski
• Dogovaranje način glasanje: Ukoliko bude potrebe za glasanjem, kako se glasa? Prosta većina (50%+1) ili dvotrećinska većina. Pojedinačno ili grupno glasanje?
• Biranje moderatora, zapisničara i tehničkih osoba.
• Predstavljanje dnevnog reda, eventualne izmjenje na dnevni red.

Predstavljanje i spodeljivanje informacije:
17:00 ~ 18:00 Predstavljanje i upoznavanje pokreta iz balkanskih zemalja koji su prisutni, njihove dosadasne i buduce akcije, dostignuca i neuspehe, prepreke i teskoce. Pitanja i diskusija.
18:00 ~ 18:30 PAUZA
18:30 ~ 20:00 Predstavljanje i sporedjivanje obrazovnih sistema i njihove karakteristije u razlicitih balkanskih zemajla, diskusija, sličnosti i razlike.
20:00 ~ 21:00 Diskusije oko metode mobilizacije i principi delovanja, sa posebnim naglaskom na Besplatno obrazovanje i studentsko samoorganizaovanje na osnovu direktne demokratije.
